WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson sophomore shortstop
Katelyn Miele (Flanders, N.J./Pope John XXIII) garnered a selection to the 2012 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region First Team, the group announced May 17.
Named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Second Team for the second straight year, Miele led the Pioneers with a .404 batting average (fifth in NJAC), 55 hits (third in league), .449 on-base percentage (eighth in conference), .574 slugging percentage (10th in league), 12 doubles (eighth in NJAC), 27 runs scored, 31 RBI (tied-fifth in league) and 78 total bases (tied-seventh in conference) while starting all 42 games this spring. She also ranked second in hits/game (1.31), sixth in doubles/game (0.29) and seventh in RBI/game (0.74) in the conference while adding three home runs, 11 walks and five sacrifice bunts this season.
William Paterson finished 30-12 overall and 12-6 in conference play, qualifying for the NJAC Tournament.
