Derner Named to D3Baseball’s Team of the Week

Senior Honored as Designated Hitter of the Week for April 2

The March 26 NJAC and NJCBA Player of the Week, Derner batted .571 in four games to earn a spot on D3baseball.com's Team of the Week.

WAYNE, N.J. –William Paterson senior first baseman/designated hitter Adam Derner (River Edge, N.J./River Dell Regional) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on April 2.

Derner batted .571 (8-for-14) with a .929 slugging percentage. He had two doubles, one home run and seven RBIs for the Pioneers. Derner was 4-for-6 with five RBI, blasting a home run and a double in a 15-12 victory at Manhattanville, March 27. He went a perfect 2-for-2 with a double and a home run to help the Pioneers to a 31-17 win against John Jay on March 28. In the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) opener at No. 14 Rowan, Derner was a combined 4-for-8 with two RBI and three runs scored as the Pioneers defeated the Profs in the night cap, 6-1.

The Pioneers (14-5, 1-1 NJAC) will host St. Joseph's-Long Island Tuesday, April 3, at 3:30 p.m.
