PITMAN, N.J. – William Paterson senior designated hitter/first baseman
Adam Derner (River Edge, N.J./River Dell Regional) was selected as the March 26 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Baseball Player of the Week.
Derner batted .480 (12-25) during eight contests at the Greater Phoenix Invitational, posting two doubles, four home runs, seven runs scored and 17 RBI. Six of his hits were for extra bases, he compiled an on-base percentage of .563 and a slugging percentage of 1.040, and struck out just twice in 25 at-bats. During a 9-8, eight-inning victory March 20 against Kansas Wesleyan, Derner was 2-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBI and a run scored. His pinch-hit, walk-off, three-run homer lifted WP to a 7-6, seven-inning victory against Concordia March 22, and during a 21-4, seven-inning win March 24 against Johns Hopkins, Derner was 4-for-5 with a pair of home runs, seven RBI and three runs scored.
William Paterson (11-4, 0-0 NJAC) will play at Manhattanville Tuesday, March 27, at 3:30 p.m.
