WAYNE, N.J. – No. 13 William Paterson (23-3, 11-2 NJAC) will compete for the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Men's Basketball Tournament title Saturday, Feb. 25, at Richard Stockton (22-4, 12-1 NJAC). Tip-off in Galloway, N.J., will be at 6:00 p.m.
Live statistics will be available, and the WP student radio station,
Brave New Radio 88.7 FM, will broadcast the game.
All William Paterson students with valid I.D. who attend the championship game will be admitted for free, courtesy of the Division of Student Development. General Admission will be $5.00. Visiting students, children 12 and under, and senior citizens will be admitted for $2.00.
The Pioneers are the top seed in the North Division and received a first-round bye. William Paterson defeated No. 2 South Kean (7-20), 72-56, in the semifinal round Feb. 22. In the other semifinal contest, No. 1 South Richard Stockton earned an 89-87 double-overtime home win against No. 2 North Ramapo (18-9).
Earlier this year, William Paterson handed the Ospreys their only league loss of the season, a 73-71 decision in Wayne (Jan. 7).
The Pioneers have won 10 NJAC Tournament titles, the most recent coming in 2010 with a 70-58 home victory against Richard Stockton. The NJAC Tournament winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Tournament field will be announced Monday, Feb. 27, at 12:00 p.m. via live video stream on ncaa.com.
