Senior Miguel Lugo hit a pair of doubles and scored twice against the Devils.
WAYNE, N.J. – A seven-run fifth inning helped FDU-Florham (2-0) earn a 13-8 baseball victory at William Paterson (1-1-1) March 9. The game was halted due to darkness with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the eighth inning.

Senior Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) started things off for the Pioneers with a first-inning solo home run down the left-field line, and William Paterson tacked on an unearned score in the second when sophomore Rob Somers (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) singled to the pitcher and then crossed the plate after a throwing error by the Devil third baseman.

WAYNE, N.J. -- The William Paterson softball team will start the 2010 season ranked 15th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 25 Poll. The Pioneers were ranked 15th on both the preseason and March 3 NFCA lists.  William Paterson returns 10 letterwinners and seven starters this spring, a year after the Pioneers were 35-9 overall, 13-5 in league play, the champions of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament and the runners-up in the NCAA Tournament Mahwah Regional.

WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (1-0-1) began its 2010 baseball season with a 15-4 win and a 5-5 tie against visiting Worcester State (0-1-1) in a seven-inning doubleheader March 7 at Pioneer Baseball Park. The second game was halted due to darkness after the Pioneers tied the contest with a single run in the bottom of the seventh.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – No. 10/9 William Paterson (25-3) saw its season come to an end with an 84-53 loss to Mary Washington (22-5) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament March 5 in Rochester, N.Y.

Senior Elisa Brown (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) scored a career-best 21 points in the loss, while classmate Julie Haledjian (Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills) finished her career with 16 points, three assists and four steals.

The champions of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament, No. 7 William Paterson (25-2, 12-1 NJAC) will host Albertus Magnus (22-6) in the first round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament Friday, March 5, at 8:00 p.m. at the Rec Center. Live statistics and a live video feed will be available.  The first 150 William Paterson students with valid ID will be admitted for free, courtesy of the Office of the Dean of Students and Residence Life.  General admission is $6.00, and students, children 12 and under and senior citizens will be admitted for $3.00.

WAYNE, N.J. – Baseball senior outfielder Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week March 8.
 
Guadango batted .500 with three runs, six RBI, a double and a home run as the Pioneers began the season 1-0-1, He went 2-for-4 with a double, two-run home run, three runs scored and four RBI during a 15-4 season-opening win against Worcester State March 7, and in the second game of the doubleheader he was 1-for-2 with a two-out, two-RBI single in a 5-5 tie against the . Guadango walked twice, one of them intentional, and stole a base in the nightcap.
