Women’s Soccer Secures Victory against Sarah Lawrence

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (4-3) prevailed against Sarah Lawrence (2-1-5), 2-1, Sept. 23.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Sarah Lawrence got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 8th minute, resulting in a 1-0 lead.
  • William Paterson tied the game in 18th minute, when freshman Kylie Grompone (Emerson, N.J./Emerson) scored, connecting on a pass from senior Maria Funiciello (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley).
  • In the 61st minute, the Pioneers took the lead when senior Maria Funiciello (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) found the back of the net, resulting in a 2-1 lead.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Sophomore Alessandra Socio (North Brunswick, N.J./St. Thomas Aquinas) posted 10 saves in goal.
