This is William Paterson University
At William Paterson University, you will find a supportive and challenging environment that encourages you to push yourself, gain confidence, and come away with the knowledge that remarkable things are within your reach. A comprehensive regional institution located in the hills of suburban Wayne, New Jersey, the University serves more than 10,500 full- and part-time students through five colleges: College of the Arts and Communication, Cotsakos College of Business, College of Education, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and College of Science and Health.

The University was founded in 1855 and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. Our 43 undergraduate and 20 graduate degree programs create opportunities that help you succeed in our classrooms, laboratories, studios, and throughout our beautiful, 370-acre campus.

At William Paterson, you’ll study in small classes taught by professors who are experts in their fields. You will also enjoy individualized attention from faculty mentors and team coaches who are committed to helping you develop your strengths, and uncover new ones.

You will benefit from our up-to-the-minute facilities: from the newly expanded and renovated University Commons, the hub of campus life that includes the redesigned John Victor Machuga Student Center, to the TV broadcast studios, Russ Berrie Professional Sales Laboratory, Financial Learning Center, and Nel Bolger, RN, Nursing Laboratory, among others. The University also features a 4,000-seat Rec Center, as well as Wightman Memorial Gym with its competition-sized pool.

Whether you choose to join the nearly 2,600 active undergraduates living in our modern on-campus residence halls, or to commute, you’ll share an active campus experience with students from every background and perspective. Financial aid is available to qualified students.

William Paterson offers 12 NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic programs, many of which have competed for national championships. The Pioneer baseball team captured national crowns in 1992 and 1996, while the men’s basketball program reached the 2001 NCAA Division III Tournament title game with national player of the year Horace Jenkins, later a member of the Detroit Pistons, leading the way.  A 13th sport, men's golf, will be added to the athletic program and will begin competitive play in 2010-11.

At William Paterson University, we’ll help you turn what’s possible into what’s next. For more information, visit www.wpunj.edu or call the Office of Admissions at 973.720.2125.
