WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson junior shortstop
Katelyn Miele (Flanders, N.J./Pope John XXIII) was named to the 2013 ECAC Metro Region All-Star second team, the group announced May 31.
Selected to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-First Team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region Second Team earlier in May, Miele led the Pioneers with a .342 average (ninth in league), 41 hits and 27 RBI (tied-10th in conference), and tied for the team lead with five triples (tied-first in NJAC). A starter in all 40 games, she recorded a .402 on-base percentage, .533 slugging percentage (eighth in league), 64 total bases (tied-ninth in conference), 21 runs scored, seven doubles, two home runs and five stolen bases.
Miele was a member of the 2012 NFCA All-Region First Team was a second-team all-conference honoree in 2011 and 2012.
William Paterson finished 19-21 overall and 10-8 in conference play in 2013, qualifying for the NJAC Tournament.
